i have been in nicaragua for over a week now. things are going great. we were working with a church from missouri, along with the missionaries here, bonny and levys. they are amazing people. we have worked mostly with one school doing alot of painting, cleaning, and using there church to do a lot of ministry. we helped host a big pastors seminar for the local pastors, blessed teachers with bags of food, clothes, school supplies, toiletries, and much more. we distributed 500 family food packages to hungry families. some of our work was in the town of seboco which is about 2 hours away from the capital city of managua. we ministered in school assemblies and church services. we were at one service tuesday night for fathers day and got to pray for a bunch of fathers.
a lot of the team got really sick for a few days, and i was one of them. really sick, but got through it ok.
God really showed up through us in nicaragua and tomorrow morning we are off for el salvador for about 4 weeks. keep us in your prayers as we are doing a lot of ministry and food distribution, and need our health and energy. pray that God would use us there for his glory and purpose.
God is good
chad-
so I officially leave friday the 20th of june… that’s less than a week away. i have a lot to do before i go, but things are coming along well. it is sometimes forgotten how much work has to be done before you get to go and actually do ministry. i am getting a first hand look at all that is done in preparation to taking a team. everything from loading trucks that have things we need to do our work in el salvador and nicaragua, to making phone calls, sending letters, and more fun stuff.
i am very excited to see what God has in store for us in el salvador and nicaragua. we will be heading to nicaragua first, be there for about 9 days, then leave for el salvador for a few weeks and back to nicaragua. we will be doing a lot of food distribution, spiritual education in schools, blessing single mothers, and work in schools fixing them up.
be in prayer for me as i try and get an appointment with a doctor here in springfield, MO before we head out friday for my headaches. and for safety and health while we are out.
all for now. more to come.

A Convoy of Hope team is currently managing its Myanmar disaster response effort from Bangkok, Thailand. After clearing initial authority inspections, two truckloads of supplies were sent to in-country partners. Upon arrival, these supplies were distributed to victims of the cyclone.
Six large shipping containers, (approximately 240,000 lbs.) are currently en route to Myanmar. These loads consist of protein-enriched rice casserole (donated by Feed My Starving Children of Minneapolis, Minn.) and other nonperishable food items and supplies.
In addition, Convoy of Hope has purchased and shipped 10,000 LifeStraws, a personal water purification device that will provide an individual with up to one year’s supply of safe drinking water. Federal Express has generously donated the transportation of these life-saving devices along with five-gallon buckets, latex gloves, face masks, and more. An additional 5,000 LifeStraws have been ordered and will be supplied to an in country partner for distribution upon their arrival.
Your generous contributions are what make these type of response efforts possible.
Along with a primary partner, a long-term staging area for the recovery effort is being established in Bangkok for the continued receipt and distribution of food, water, water decontamination tablets, water filtration units, and medical supplies to treat dysentery and diarrhea.
With knowledge gained through the tsunami and Katrina responses, Convoy of Hope leadership is anticipating the magnitude of the long-term recovery needs. A regional response team has been assigned to Bangkok to oversee ongoing activities and partner relationships for at least the next several months.
So this week I have been helping load shipping containers full of feed my starving children, boats, tarps for shelters, among a ton of other supplies that are needed.
Also we just found out that we distributed 132,600 meals during the 15 days we were in Haiti… Praise God for that.
Just a little update on what is going on back here in Missouri
